Ugly - Beautiful
It has been so long since I cleaned my stove top. It ended up taking 2 hours of scrubbing, but now it looks like new. Now, if I did it more often, it would look like new all the time :)

Bad - Good
I missed my friend's birthday yesterday. I've never forgotten before, which is why it was never in my diary. Now it is in my diary, so I won't forget next year.

Bad - Good
I consider myself to be an average to good cook - yet occasionally things go so wrong... like tonight! Oh well, at least the chickens will have something to scratch through tomorrow :)

Ugly - Beautiful
It continually amazes me how you can take some greenery from a creeper, some straggly stems with little flowers at the end and some fresh cut roses and turn them into a lovely flower arrangement.

Bad - Good
Why is it that some people just can't follow instructions? Oh, well... I guess there are times that I haven't followed the plan. So this time I will smile and go along with it seeing as it is something I can compromise on.

Bad - Good
I realised today that even though I am sad about my daughter moving away, I know I've done a good job raising her to become to strong independent young woman that she is. That's good - very good!

Sad - Happy
Today my red lid dish was given back and for the first time I felt tears of sadness about my daughter moving away. We have this dish that passed from her to me and back again. Whoever had the dish, had to fill it with something and give it back. Sometimes it was filled with dinner for my daughter who worked late from time to time. She would call from work and ask if someone could pick her up from the train and take her home - then I would divide our meal into three and give her the red lid dish. She would return it with something she'd made on the weekend. She's moved away and I've been left with the dish. Happy memories.

Ugly - Beautiful
Is the first day of 2012 and we were driving home during a thunder storm. The flashes of lightening and dark skies were really something to see. But the driving rain on unharvested crops was heartbreaking. The ugly evidence of the previous storms was still everywhere. Then all of a sudden, there beside us was a brilliant double rainbow. Simply beautiful.
